Synopsis: Melania, a young Uruguayan woman, moves to Europe in search of freedom. After a homophobic attack in London, she decides to make a film with her friend Laura, a filmmaker. Through voice recording, they both embark on a journey to heal the pain of trauma. The poetry of Cristina Peri Rossi guides this story of exile, desire, and resistance.

Biofilmographies

Laura Gabay
Graduate of HEAD (Geneva) and EICTV (Cuba). She premiered her first feature film, Para No Olvidar, at Visions du Réel (2023).
Her first short film, Enquête 62, won the Audience Award at the Filmets International Film Festival. Her second short film, Viento dulce salado, was selected at Visions du Réel and IDFA, among others. Since 2018, she has worked as a producer and director in the Ecran Mobile collective and has taught Super 8 film workshops at the University of Geneva. Between 2020 and 2022, she produced Carbón, Criatura, and Fantasmagoría, works that stood out at the Winterthur, Locarno, and DocLisboa festivals. She is currently developing her second feature film, supported by EQZE, the 7th ZINEBI Networking Professional Forum, and Zinegoak Pro.

Vania Jaikin
Producer, director, and film editor of Chilean origin, born in Switzerland.
She has been a producer with Hand Made Films since 2007, which became sur Terre in 2019, and also works with Mnemosyn Films. Since 2020, she has been a producer with the Écran Mobile collective, which produces audiovisual works with a political and critical perspective, co-producing with Latin America.
